Lena serves as the Chief of Staff and Policy Counsel of the International Digital Accountability Council (IDAC).

Before joining IDAC, Lena was a Policy Counsel at the Future of Privacy Forum, where she focused on mobile app behaviors. Lena has extensive data privacy consulting experience and has served federal and commercial clients. During her time at Booz Allen Hamilton, she helped implement breach response protocols and privacy impact assessment processes at prominent federal agencies. Prior to moving to DC, Lena worked at Aleada, a boutique privacy firm in San Francisco. There, she developed privacy programs for commercial clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies and served as a Data Protection Officer for a medical device company.

Lena currently serves as the Washington DC Lead of the Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) organization and as a Fellow at the Internet Law and Policy Foundry. She was the 2019 Young Privacy Leader for the DC chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and holds a CIPM and CIPP/US certificate from the IAPP. Lena also provides privacy guidance to early- stage startups at Seed Spot, a tech incubator in DC.

Lena is a graduate of UC Berkeley and USF School of Law.
